News from IT House on May 14thP2ecryptolistAfter Jim Ryan (Jim Ryan) retires, Sony will appoint Hermen Hulst Hulse and Hideaki Nishino as co-CEO to lead Sony's PlayStation business from June 1.
Hermen Hulst, who is currently head of PlayStation Studios, is the chief executive of Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) studio business group.
Hideaki Nisano has been appointed chief executive of Sony's interactive entertainment platform business, and both will report to 10:00 Hiroki Totoki, Sony's chief financial officer and chairman of Sony Interactive Entertainment.
Note: Sony announced that Ryan, who has worked at Sony for 30 years, resigned as CEO and president of Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) in March 2024.
At 10:00, Hiroki, president, chief operating officer and chief financial officer of Sony will become interim chief executive of SIE after Ryan leaves.
In a statement about his departure, Ryan mentioned the difficulty of reconciling his family life in Europe with his work responsibilities in North America. He said:
After 30 years of work, I decided to retire from SIE in March 2024. I enjoyed doing a job I liked in a very special company, working with excellent colleagues and incredible partners.
But I find it increasingly difficult to reconcile living in Europe and working in North America.
I will leave with the honor of participating in products that have affected the lives of millions around the world; PlayStation will always be a part of my life, and I feel more optimistic about the future of SIE than ever before. I would like to thank Mr. Yoshida for trusting me so much and for being a very sensitive and supportive leader.
